SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION OF THE RISKGOVEU MUN CONFERENCE
On May 22, 2026, we proudly hosted and successfully concluded the international Model United Nations (MUN) conference, organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module – RiskGovEU.
Designed to deeply engage youth in global crisis management processes, the conference was held under the overarching theme: "Global Challenges and Cross-Border Risk Management: Integrating the European Solidarity Experience into International Practice".
Opening Ceremony and Official Remarks
The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony. D. Mamatov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, delivered the welcoming address, emphasizing the invaluable role of diplomatic simulations in student development.
Following this, Project Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Umid Kulijanov and Visola Rakhmatullaeva, a representative of the National Erasmus+ Office (NEO) in Uzbekistan, delivered keynote speeches highlighting the strategic significance of the RiskGovEU project and the importance of studying and adapting European crisis management experiences.
Simulation Sessions and Key Debates
During the simulation, student delegates stepped into the roles of international diplomats. The core focus of the assembly was to analyze international crisis response mechanisms and explore how the standards and experiences of the EU Solidarity Fund could be applied on a global scale.
Delegates engaged in intense, high-level debates on highly relevant cross-border issues, including:
- The Garbage Island Phenomenon — Delegate D. Samatova
- The Aral Sea Crisis — Delegate L. Sottieva
- Drought and Water Scarcity — Delegate D. Sultonova
- Activities of Private Security Services — Delegate Z. Rasulova
- The Circulation of Chemical Precursors — Delegate M. Sunnatillaeva
Results and Resolution
The rigorous negotiations culminated in the adoption and announcement of a special international Resolution by the Secretary-General. The event concluded with a solemn award ceremony, where all participating delegates were presented with special certificates recognizing their active participation, diplomatic skills, and demonstrated knowledge of international crisis management and EU law.
