DISSEMINATION AND ACADEMIC MOBILITY AT ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY (TURKEY)
From June 8 to 15, 2026, a delegation of professors and faculty members undertook an official academic mobility visit to Atatürk University in Erzurum, Turkey. This visit served as a strategic platform to expand the international network of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module “Strengthening Disaster Risk Governance Through EU Law” (RiskGovEU).
BUILDING INSTITUTIONAL BRIDGES
Atatürk University, established in 1957, is one of Turkey’s most prestigious public research universities and a major educational hub in the Eastern Anatolia region. With its strong track record in Erasmus+ programs, the institution provided an ideal environment for establishing new cross-border partnerships.
A significant milestone of this mobility was the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both universities. This agreement lays a solid foundation for future student and faculty exchanges, joint scientific research, and collaborative international projects, directly supporting the long-term sustainability of the RiskGovEU network.
STRATEGIC MEETINGS AND CURRICULUM INNOVATION
On June 9, Assoc. Prof. Umid Kulijanov, RiskGovEU Project Coordinator, held an official meeting with Prof. Dr. Sevda Küçük, Head of the Instructional Technology Department at Atatürk University’s Education Faculty.
The discussions focused on expanding inter-faculty cooperation. Crucially, the meeting explored innovative ways to integrate modern educational technologies into academic curricula – a key component in effectively teaching complex subjects like EU Law and global disaster risk management.
GUEST LECTURES AND KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE
To actively disseminate the project's academic goals and share international expertise, a comprehensive schedule of guest lectures was organized for master’s and PhD candidates of the Education Faculty. The lectures were delivered by Assoc. Prof. U. Kulijanov, K. Kulijanova, D. Ruzimova, Sh. Azimova, and M. Odilova.
This mobility to Erzurum successfully elevated the quality of our educational partnerships and brought the objectives of the RiskGovEU project to a new international stage!
